Book Week Events

Each year across Australia, the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) brings children and books together celebrating CBCA Book Week. This year, Book Week is taking place from 17 – 23 August with the theme being Reading is My Secret Power.

The following events will be taking place before, during and after Book Week in 2019:

Marcellin Campus

Throughout Week 5 (Tuesday 20 – Friday 23 August) there will be a range of activities held each day on the Marcellin Campus. Further information will be advertised to students in the daily notices. Events include:

  • The Write A Book in A Day Competition
  • Haiku Competition
  • Guess the ‘Shelfies’ PCG Quiz
  • Limerick Competition
  • ‘Book Memories’ PCG Quiz
  • Lunchtime Book Week Kahoot Quiz
  • Year 11 students reading to Lavalla students
  • ÐãÐãÖ±²¥ Short Story Competition

The CBCA nominated books will also be on display on the Siena Learning Centre for students to loan. Students are encouraged to get involved in these many activities available to them.

IPSHA Athletics Carnival

Students in Years 3-6 will represent the College at the IPSHA Athletics Carnival.

We encourage all parents and family members to come and support our students on the day.

Years 3-6 Athletics Carnival

The 2019 Lavalla Athletics Carnival will take place on Wednesday 4 September on both the Marcellin Oval.

IPSHA Cross Country Carnival

Selected students from Years 3-6 will compete in the IPSHA Interschool Cross Country.

Students will need to bring a healthy snack and a water bottle. As it is an Interschool fixture, all students must wear their full sports uniform (blue sports shirt). Please ensure they bring a change of clothes and a towel in case of wet weather.
