No! Just come along! You do, however need to SIGN IN AND OUT. If you’re not sure how, we are here to help. And no! You can arrange to meet your folks in the carpark after you sign yourself out.

1) We need to know you’re here in case of evacuation. Unlikely, but possible. If we don’t know you’re here, we won’t look for you.

2) If your folks call us, it’s very embarrassing if we have to search for you. We often have parents phone with messages for students.

Only in the designated area, for the purpose of contacting home, because we recognise that sometimes you need to message home, and sometimes it’s cold and raining, or very hot outside. That’s why we have a phone zone behind Ms Maniz’ desk which you are welcome to use for texting and calling your folks. If you do choose to use your phone inappropriately, you may well have it confiscated.

YES!! Typically we have 2 tutors and up to 5 teachers here most nights. Mondays is tutors only because the teachers have a meeting. Our tutors are all high performing uni students and most are alumni of ÐãÐãÖ±²¥. The desk profiles will help you figure out who can best help you, or, you can ask at the desk and Ms Maniz will usually be able to find someone to help.

Can we have our snacks in Homework Club? We are hungry.

No. Lavalla has different arrangements for junior students.

No. There are plenty of quiet spaces on the Library level where you can work and meet your sibling when you’re ready to go. Senior students need their space.

Assessments

Assessment is an integral part of the learning process, providing students, parents/guardians and teachers with information on academic progress and feedback to inform future learning. Assessment procedures need to be fair, reliable, valid and transparent. Assessments should arise naturally out of the teaching and intended learning of the curriculum and syllabus. They should be carefully constructed to enable judgements to be made about students’ progress in ways that contribute to ongoing learning. Information collected to establish where students are in their learning can be used for summative and formative purposes.
