As part of our Year 7 2025 Transition Process, we invite our Year 6 students and their families to our Secondary Campus Experience on Tuesday, 5 November. The afternoon provides an opportunity for families to connect, share reflections from the recent Orientation Day, and further explore the Marcellin Campus.
Beginning at 3:30pm in Founders鈥 Court, families can enjoy refreshments before hearing a welcome from the College Principal. Students and parents will then have the chance to meet with Pastoral Care Group teachers, explore key areas of the campus, and engage with staff and student leaders who will play an integral role in their journey.
We look forward to welcoming you to 秀秀直播 and supporting your family in preparing for a successful start to secondary school.
Remembrance Day Services
On Remembrance Day, the 秀秀直播 community will come together at our respective campuses to honour those who have served in times of war and conflict. As students gather, we reflect not only on past sacrifices but also on the importance of peace in light of ongoing conflicts around the world. From the war in Ukraine to the hostilities in the Middle East, recent events remind us of the preciousness of peace and the profound impact of war on countless lives.
This Remembrance Day, we stand in solidarity with all affected by conflict, both past and present. As we observe moments of silence and reflection, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting compassion and understanding within our own community.
Road Safety Reminder
As we approach the end of the year, it is easy to let road safety awareness slip. We ask everyone in our school community to stay vigilant, especially during peak traffic times in the mornings and afternoons. Students are reminded to cross roads carefully and take care when getting in and out of cars.
To help keep our school zones safe, please remember:
Drive slowly: Stick to the 40km/h limit (10km/h in school grounds)
Stay alert: Watch for pedestrians, cyclists, and other drivers, and pay attention to crossings.
Avoid complex manoeuvres: U-turns, three-point turns, and similar actions disrupt traffic flow and can be dangerous.
Give way to pedestrians: Always give way to pedestrians, especially at driveways.
Follow crossing supervisors: Adhere to the guidance of crossing supervisors at all supervised crossings.
Let鈥檚 work together to keep all members of our community safe.

Uniform Update: Stock Arrivals, Discounts, and Plans for 2025
With the introduction of the new skirts for secondary and guilds for primary, there are a number of updates regarding uniform availability, pricing adjustments, and what you can expect in the coming months at the 秀秀直播 Uniform Shop.
New Arrivals
We recently received a shipment of new skirts and skorts, and we are anticipating the arrival of girls’ trousers very soon. These are in the new grey colour.
The new skirts and skorts will be available for sale or order by the new Year 7 students at their upcoming orientation session, while Year 6 students from 秀秀直播 can also shop from our discounted old skirt selection as they prepare for secondary school.
Discounted Pricing on Select Items
We are offering substantial discounts on select items:
Faction Polos are now available for $15
Old Colour Skirts, Skorts, and Trousers are now $45
These discounts apply to old stock items as we transition to the updated uniform. Please note that these discounted items can only be worn until the end of 2026.
Guild Shirt Update
Some of the smaller sizes in guild shirts are currently in high demand. Orders have been placed for these sizes, and we expect their arrival in late November.
2025 Uniform
Looking ahead to the 2025 school year, we are expecting to have stock of the bulk of uniform items in January, in time for Term 1. We look forward to welcoming you to the Uniform Shop soon and helping you with your uniform needs as we transition to the 2025 school year!
As we reach the halfway mark of Term 4, it鈥檚 time to take a breath and just marvel at the achievements and involvements of our students and staff at this busy but rewarding time of the year. Here are just a few of the wonderful involvements of the past fortnight:
Pre-Primary Green Assembly
There鈥檚 nothing better than a 鈥榗lassic鈥 tale to tell, and our PPG students brought great joy to this week鈥檚 Marian Assembly with the story of the Gingerbread Man. Besides the great entertainment on show, Mr von Bergheim recognised the class for their use of Talk for Writing in their performance.
Primary Disco
The return of the Primary Disco was certainly well received by our students and they enjoyed the excitement of discoing in the big arena of the Marist Auditorium. The Year 12, 2025 student leaders joined them and, along with the staff, created a special event.
Arts Week – Kaleidoscope
Creativity takes courage, and students expressing themselves in the Arts do more than just tend to their own growth and stretch their boundaries. 秀秀直播 life isn鈥檛 complete or well-rounded without a thriving Arts scene. Borrowing from Pablo Picasso鈥檚 quote听 鈥The purpose of鈥痑rt(s)鈥痠s washing the dust of daily life off our souls.鈥 The Arts bring out the best in us.
A week of celebrating and showcasing the Arts saw our students and Art team host the Art and Technologies Exhibition, Music Collective Concert and the Dance Showcase to round out the week. In between, there were smaller events to celebrate.听Congratulations to all students involved and to our Arts, Technologies and Auditorium teams. What was truly inspiring during Kaleidoscope was the sense of Family Spirit on display in the artists, creators, musicians, dancers and designers.听听

Year 5 Leadership Retreat& State Schools WA Cross Country
In preparation for becoming the leaders of Primary in 2025, Year 5s spent the day understanding leadership and how they could contribute to a better community next year.
In the SSWA Cross Country event, the determination and talent of our Year 4-6 runners shone through with great personal and team efforts.
Primary Grandparents Day
Grandparents are the great gift in families, and we were delighted to host so many proud grandparents at this annual event. Beginning with Mass, our cherished visitors then spent time in classrooms and enjoying morning tea. Our Primary children were so excited and eager to bring their grandparents into games and activities in the classrooms. I am sure there were a few stiff joints the day after as grandparents got right into activities on the floor and small chairs.
Maggie Dent- From the Sandpit to Adulthood
We were pleased to again host Maggie Dent at the College as she spoke to a full Marist Auditorium crowd about navigating parenthood and childhood development. Maggie鈥檚 presentations and writings are always so accessible and supportive of parents鈥 work in raising young people.
All Saints Day
This edition of the newsletter ends with the celebration of All Saints Day. We are all aware of the growth in the celebration of Halloween in Australia. It certainly is an opportunity to bring joy to children and foster a sense of community as our youngest ones explore their neighbourhoods under the watchful eyes of family. Our Christian tradition runs deep in this celebration too. All Hallows Day, or All Saints Day is a holy or hallowed day in recognition of the saints. The eve before was the preparation for Hallows Day, hence Halloween.
The Class of 2024 with their families and 秀秀直播 staff gathered at Optus Stadium on Wednesday 16 October to acknowledge and celebrate their successes and achievements. Uniform and Personal Presentation
This week on Marcellin Campus, conversations among year levels have focused on maintaining expectations despite it being Term Four. Students have been reminded about the College鈥檚 uniform and personal presentation guidelines. The focus of our discussions has included the following:
Formal school shirts are ironed and clean, and the only button undone is the top collar button.
Haircuts must be of blade length number 3 or longer, and there should be no major discrepancy between long and short/shaved hair.
Makeup is not to be worn.
Skirts should reach the knee when standing.
Male students must always be cleanly shaven.
A few students across year levels have been asked by their Leader of Wellbeing to lengthen their skirt by letting down the hem or purchasing a new skirt. For our Year 10 and Year 11 students who require a new skirt, the Uniform Shop will be reducing the price of current skirts, skorts, and girls鈥 trousers to $45 prior to the phasing in of the new skirt. Please note that these items, sold at the reduced price, can only be worn for the next two years.
Year 7 and Year 10 Catch Up Immunisations
On Tuesday 22 October, Year 7 and Year 10 students who missed their immunisations earlier in the year have been given another opportunity at school to do this. If this applies to your child, information about the immunisations has been emailed to you.
Year 11 Exams
Year 11 students commence their exams from Monday 4 November (Week 5). Students are expected to observe the Uniform and Personal Presentation Guidelines and wear their formal summer uniform. The exam timetable can be viewed .
If students are on campus during the exam period working with staff or studying, they are expected to wear their PE uniform and abide by the College鈥檚 Mobile Phone Policy.
It is compulsory for all Year 11 students to attend the College on Friday 22 November from 8.45am until 1pm for the Annual Awards Assembly and final Year 11 activities.
Campus Parking
The College has received some feedback from residents within the area who have expressed concerns about cars being parked in places which restrict residents’ access in and out of their properties. We remind families to please observe the council parking signs and to be respectful of residents with whom we share the roads. Please be aware that the council has been notified, and we ask for families to support the College in maintaining positive relationships with our local residents.

Welcome back to Term 4! The first two weeks of the new term have seen all classes settle back into the good routine of learning and teaching. It has been so energising visiting classes across Marian, Lavalla and Marcellin campuses, and watching our students dive deeply into their learning. We welcome new families to our community who have begun their 秀秀直播 journey in Term 4.
Year 12 Graduation Mass & Awards Ceremony
This significant rite of passage was held on October 16 at Optus Stadium. Fr Garner celebrated Mass and families, staff and the Class of 2024 then moved into a formal dinner and presentations. Each student was presented to the community, acknowledging their place as graduating students from 秀秀直播. Subject and College awards were also featured alongside the 2024 College Captains鈥 Address. The Class of 2024 was acknowledged for their legacy to our community and sharing the night with families was so special for our staff. Our prayers are with the Graduates as they prepare for WACE examinations or move into traineeships, apprenticeships, TAFE or work.
Feast Celebrations
The Feast Day of our College Patron, St John Henry 秀秀直播, happened on 9 October. We came together as a College community the following day to celebrate St John Henry 秀秀直播 with Mass and the Primary Buddy Day. For those unaware, St John Henry 秀秀直播 was a 19th century significant leader of the Church. Having spent the first half of his life in the Anglican tradition and ordained, 秀秀直播 became a Catholic on 9 October 1845 after a significant time of discernment, eventually becoming a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. In the decision pre-dating the beginning of 秀秀直播, Churchlands in 1977, the orders of the Marist Brother and Dominican and Brigidine sisters settled on the name of the new College as 秀秀直播. It first began as the 秀秀直播 system before evolving into our school today. In St John Henry 秀秀直播, the community of the time saw the wonderful example of a person with great spiritual depth and a relational base to faith. St John Henry 秀秀直播 wrote of a faith where 鈥榟eart speaks to heart鈥 and this meets the Spirituality of the Heart that is our Marist way- Strong Mind, Gentle Heart.
This fortnight we have also remembered St Mary MacKillop whose canonisation anniversary falls on October 16. St Mary of the Cross. In Australian education and Christian faith, St Mary stands as a giant who, through the work of her Sisters of St Joseph, brought Catholic education to much of Australia鈥檚 rural and regional areas in the late 19th and through the 20th centuries. Our Mackillop Guild is named in honour of Mary MacKillop.
As you would know when attending our parent nights and major celebrations we pray to St Mary of the Cross and St John Henry 秀秀直播, alongside Mary our Good Mother and St Marcellin Champagnat in our Litany of Prayer.
Celebrating Alumni- Rhodes Scholar
听
You may have noticed our recent social media posts celebrating Alumna.听 Eden Rigo (Class of 2015) who was recently announced as the recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship 2025. She will begin her studies at Oxford University in 2025.
Eden has excelled in sports, drama and academia, and is driven to create equitable, sustainable communities in her work. We have been researching into our 113 year history as a school entity to determine whether Eden is our first Rhodes Scholarship recipient. Eden is in fact our second Rhodes Scholar, the first being Bronte Adams in 1986.
Our College community is so proud of Eden and we look forward to the wonderful impact she will continue to make through her studies and commitment.听
To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often. St John Henry 秀秀直播
Earlier this week we announced the Year 12 leaders for 2025. The process was difficult due to the high calibre of students who expressed their passion and willingness to lead and serve our school community. We received numerous outstanding applications and were inspired by the dedication and commitment shown by all of the students.
In my meetings with the incoming leaders, I have outlined that one of their most important acts of leadership is to ensure they include and develop the leadership of students without a badge. I thank all students who nominated for positions and encourage those who were unsuccessful in formal positions to continue to lead with courage and passion.
Congratulations to the following students:
College Captains:
Amelia Ng and Liam Stannard
Academic Captains:

Celebrate Assembly 鈥 Year 12 Farewell Assembly
This week, we celebrated the Class of 2024. Whilst the Graduation Mass and Dinner will take place early next term with families, this day and its rituals are greatly treasured by students and parents. The final week for Year 12 was an exciting one that provided opportunities at Guild, Year and College levels to express our care and best wishes for a fine group of young women and men. The Year 12 group also had fun in the official planned activities. Thank you to the staff involved in the running of these events.
In the Principal鈥檚 Address to the Assembly on Thursday, I addressed this message to our Year 12s:
鈥淵ou are created and called. Let family spirit, presence, a love of work, simplicity and the way of Mary find a place in your heart, and I encourage you to draw on the Marist Way that keeps you considering always your important part in making a better world.
Each of you have different gifts and have followed different paths while at this College. Our sincere hope is that you have always felt that those diverse paths have been equally valuable and valued; that your worth and dignity are innate and inviolable; and that your school has been an extension of the care and hope held for you by your families.鈥
Year 6 Leaders Initiative
Recently, a group representing the Year 6 Leadership gave a very good presentation to the College Executive highlighting their initiative for wellbeing. They have a 鈥榖ench project鈥 designed to create spaces of wellbeing and friendship for Lavalla students. What a great initiative! Later in the year, we will report on the installation of the project.
ACC Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to all the athletes who represented 秀秀直播 in the ACC Athletics Carnival. The participating students came 5 overall in the competition, an outstanding achievement. The Overall Boys division saw us finishing third.
A heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff members for their encouragement and support of the students.
Additionally, I would like to acknowledge Imogen Boss for her outstanding achievement in ACC. Imogen was awarded 鈥楧ouble Letters鈥 for athletics and swimming by Trent Sharpe from the ACC at the Celebration Assembly.听 Imogen’s dedication and determination serve as a shining example of what can be accomplished through hard work and perseverance. Congratulations to Imogen on receiving this prestigious award.听听
The World鈥檚 Worst Breakups- Drama Performance
Last week we enjoyed an evening performance of this play brought to the stage by students from Years 7-10. Not only was it a joy to view on the night but the play received accolades on the weekend at the YouthFest awards.
Best Actor (senior division) Sam Cousins Year 10;
Best Production (senior division), and
Best Director (senior division) Mr Josh Lang.
Jasper Bock Year 9 received an adjudicator鈥檚 certificate for his backstage role. Well done, everyone!
Year 12 Music Night
One of the final events of the term is the Year 12 Music Night. Families and staff gathered in the Marist Auditorium to be entertained by the music students of Year 12. The group showed their many talents in presenting across genres of music and performing more than one instrument. A great night!
Italian Language Tour
Last weekend 15 students and three staff began their Italian Language Tour, landing in Rome. In the two weeks of the program, they will be immersing themselves in language workshops, as well as visiting the major cities of Italy. We wish them safe travels.
End of Term
I find Term 3 is a special time in the calendar year. It is a unique term full of so many opportunities where students are so engaged in our 鈥淰ision for Learning – Shine through Discovery鈥. In their participation in the events and opportunities Term 3 has offered, our students across the whole College have let their light shine in Challenge, Collaboration, Creation and Celebration as individuals and groups. It has been a joy to see them in small moments and large events, as they pursue their personal excellence.
Please keep the Year 12s in your prayers as the students sit their final exams.
I wish all students, families and staff a restful and safe break as this term comes to an end.
