Years 7-12 Guild Athletics Carnival

The Guild Athletics Carnival will be held on Tuesday 24 July (Term 3 Week 2). It is important to note that this is a compulsory school day for all students.

Students are to be dropped at the State Athletics Stadium, Mt Claremont at 8.30am. If this is not possible, there are limited places on a bus that will depart from and return students to the College at 3.00pm. To secure a place, students are to collect a permission slip from Student Services to have their names placed on the list.

Students must wear Guild uniform, not PE shirts. Correct PE footwear must be worn. It is also highly recommended that students are sun smart by bringing hats and sunscreen or wet weather gear.

Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch and water although a kiosk is available on the day.

PK-Y2 Life Education Van

The Life Education Program is coming to the Marian Campus in Term 3, Week 3. Life Education aims to empower our children and young people to make safer and healthier choices through education.

Parents are invited to attend the Life Education Van on Wednesday 1 August from 2.30pm-3.00pm if they would like to look at the Program on offer. The van will be located on the oval near the undercover area.

The Program supports children, teachers and families to explore a range of health topics: nutrition, body knowledge, resilience, decision making, social skills, physical activity & personal safety. Providing opportunities to develop knowledge, understanding and skills is important in positively influencing health behaviours.

Teachers select from a range of age appropriate health, and wellbeing modules to best meet the needs of their students. Students visit the Mobile Learning Centre, meet 鈥淗ealthy Harold鈥 the giraffe and engage in an interactive learning session featuring props, role play and audio visual material. This session is used as a platform to introduce and explore various health topics, which can then be consolidated and extended further back in the classroom using comprehensive student and teacher resources.
