Remar Red Recruitment Afternoon

Following an information session during extended Pastoral Care Group, Year 9 students are invited to attend the Remar Red Recruitment Afternoon which introduces students to the Remar program in an interactive, fun and informative session. It provides a brief overview of the four ‘spokes’ of Remar and highlights, through a variety of activities, that the program aims to form young Christian leaders who are motivated to stand up for what they believe to be right and just.

At the conclusion of the recruitment session, students are invited to take an information pack, which includes an expression of interest form, camp details and Remar brochure. Should students wish to attend the Red Embarkation Camp, these forms must be completed and returned to Miss Clare Cole, Leader of Youth Ministry and Advocacy, by the due date.

Years 3-6 Assembly – Item Year 5 Red

Family and friends are invited to attend the Years 3-6 Assembly on Friday 26 October at 8.45am in the Marist Auditorium. Students will receive Merit Certificates for their Academic achievements and Year 5 Red will present their item.

Year 5 Family Life Program

To support parents in their role as primary educators for their children, we are offering the Family Life Education Program (Personal Development), which is presented by the Catholic Marriage and Fertility Services, to students in Years 5 and 6.

The Year 5 sessions will be held on Monday 22 October. These are 75 minute sessions for single sex groups entitled ‘I am Nature’s Greatest Miracle’. The content covers change as part of being human and looks at the journey from pre-birth to puberty. It includes ‘Our Uniqueness’; ‘Growth Pre-Birth to Puberty’; ‘Introduction to the Physical and Emotional Changes at Puberty’; ‘Hygiene Practices’ and ‘The Language of our Growing Bodies’.

Whilst recognising education of children in human sexuality is primarily the right of parents, these programs are endorsed by our Archbishop and the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia.

A Consent2Go will be sent to parents prior to the day to indicate whether you give permission for your child to attend the Family Life Workshop and participate in supporting class lessons. If you would prefer to teach about sexual development to your child personally and do not wish your child to be present either at these sessions or in classes, please indicate this on the Consent2Go.
