PK-12 Family Mass

On Wednesday 13 February our PK-12 College community of staff, students and families gathered together on the Br Terence Gleeson Oval to celebrate the new school year, share in the Eucharist and witness the commissioning of the Year 6 and Year 12 Student Leaders.

This Mass is an integral part of our College life as we seek to continue to celebrate our Christian story and our College theme this year, consistent with other Marist Schools nationally, 鈥淲e are called to be Holy by living our lives with love and by bearing witness today鈥.

秀秀直播 News Term 1 Week 2: From the Head of Primary

Welcome back to the start of another exciting year at 秀秀直播, one filled with hope and joy for the journey ahead. We especially welcome the Pre Kindy and Kindy students starting their schooling at 秀秀直播. Our hope is that all new families feel welcome and at peace within our College community. The students have made a wonderful start and have settled quickly into the routine of their new classes. This is because of the hard work put in by the staff who were well prepared and eager to meet your child. This relationship is critical to our College鈥檚 Wellbeing Program and ultimately the success of each student. The classroom teacher is your first point of contact should you need anything regarding your child鈥檚 learning or wellbeing. We look forward to continuing in partnership with your family this year.

A similar opportunity for parents at the Lavalla Campus will also be made available throughout the term. More details to follow. The College is continually looking for ways to create opportunities for parents to interact, contribute and belong to the extended 秀秀直播 community, so we hope you will all support and enjoy this opportunity.

Primary Family Picnic

The Primary Social Committee (PSC) and the College invite families to the first social event for the year, the Primary Family Picnic. This will be a relaxed evening where families can come together and enjoy a chance to catch up with friends. We particularly welcome families that are new to the College.

Thank you to all parents who have already nominated themselves as their class鈥檚 Parent Representative. Over the next week I will finalise the Parent Representatives for each class and will contact these parents directly.

Parent Facebook Groups

This year, the College launched a new parent communication platform (Facebook Groups) which offers each cohort a forum to share information, promote school events and further support the College. Please to read the Facebook Groups Terms of Reference. We invite all parents/guardians to join their designated groups. Please select from the appropriate links below:

Parking

Parents are reminded that when using the kiss and ride at drop off and pickup times to please remain in the car. It is critical that this process allows for the flow of traffic. Please also move to the front of the queue to pick up your child. If they are not ready, please park in the overflow parking provided.

Work Experience Placements

Many of our Year 10, 11 and 12 students undertake work experience at various points throughout the year. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to challenge themselves and learn about potential pathways after school. We are always looking for new businesses in all industries who would be willing to take on a 秀秀直播 student for some work experience. We can offer you a willing and enthusiastic worker and the chance to make a difference in a young person鈥檚 life, as well as supporting your school community. And we will do the paperwork! Please email one of the Pathways and Onsite Coordinators if you can assist kelsey.fink@newman.wa.edu.au and justin.farley@newman.wa.edu.au

Consent2Go

The College will continue to use Consent2Go for obtaining parental consent for school incursions and excursions in 2019. The Consent2Go paperless system provides the College with the most up to date information regarding student details which greatly improves the College鈥檚 ability to manage incursions and excursions. If you do not have an email address or internet access, please advise Mandy Keeling, Student Data Administrator so we can add you to the Consent2Go paper process Mandy.Keeling@newman.wa.edu.au or 9204 9434

Food Allergy Reminder

As a result of recent news relating to the dangers of food allergies, 秀秀直播 would like to offer a reminder to all families. 秀秀直播 is a 鈥楴ut Aware鈥 school. It is NOT nut free. Families should be advised that the College cannot guarantee the absence of all nut products or traces of nuts within food across the College. The College Canteen does provide a 鈥楴ut Aware鈥 service, but cannot guarantee that food and beverages served from the Canteen do not contain traces of Nuts, Crustaceans, Fish, Milk, Eggs, Sesame, Soybean and Wheat.

If families are reliant on the Canteen for the provision of food and beverages to a child WITH an allergy, they are advised to contact the Canteen Manager, Donna McFadden. The Canteen is available daily for children of the College. For details please .
